SC Farm Report on Thursday
Cattle at SC Auctions on Wednesday: Compared to last week no
comparisons made on feeder cattle due to limited comparable sales. Feeder
Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 292.50-310.00; 500-600 lbs 305.00.
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 290.00-295.00; 500-600 lbs
none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs none
reported, 500-600 lbs 232.00-272.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean
130.00-142.00; Boners 80-85% lean 124.00-150.00; High Dressing none
reported; Lean 85-90% lean 122.00-132.00; Lean Low Dressing 80.00-119.00.
Slaughter bulls: Average Dressing 1100-1550 lbs 150.00-167.00; High
Dressing none reported; Low Dressing 1190-2350 lbs 122.00-148.00.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 2 920 lbs Young Aged Cow with Calf
under 300 lbs 1700.00 per pair. Small 2 600 lbs Young Aged Cow with Calf
under 300 lbs 1150.00 per pair.
Hogs on Wednesday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs was not reported. Sows live
price 300-450 lbs 51.69; 450-500 lbs 57.44; 500-550 lbs 58.71.
SC Grain on Thursday. New crop corn bids were 1 to 2 cents lower;
elevator bids 4.07-4.98, processor bids 4.17-4.42. New crop soybean bids
were 6 cents lower; elevator bids 9.56-9.81, processor bids 10.36-10.56,
and export 10.46. Wheat bids were mixed, 1 cent lower to 5 cents higher;
elevator bids 3.87-4.52.
Cotton on Thursday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 0.60
lower at 63.38.
