SC Farm Report on Tuesday
Cattle at SC Auctions on Monday: Compared to last week, there were
too few comparable sales to establish trends. Feeder Steers: Medium and
Large 1 400-500 lbs 245.00-290.00, 500-600 lbs 240.00-257.50. Feeder
Bulls: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 270.00-290.00, 500-600 lbs
none reported. Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 250.00-
260.00, 500-600 lbs 225.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers 75-80% lean 117.00-
128.00; Boners 80%-85% lean 114.00-133.00; Lean 85-90% lean 107.00-
124.00; Lean low dressing 65.00-116.00. Slaughter Bulls: Average Dressing
1115-1920 lbs 130.00-166.00; High Dressing none reported; Low Dressing
none reported.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 1020-1135 lbs Young to Middle Age
Cows with calves under 300 lbs 1300.00-2050.00 per pair. Medium and
Large 2 740-1065 lbs Young to Middle Age Cows with calves under 300 lbs
1750.00-1865.00 per pair.
Hogs on Monday: Plant delivered weighted average. National Direct
Barrows & Gilts US 1 50-54% lean 250-300 lbs price was 2.42 higher at
60.76. Sows live price 300-450 lbs 67.06; 450-500 lbs 72.20; 500-550
lbs 73.15.
SC Grain on Tuesday: Corn was 1 to 2 cents higher; elevator bids
4.17-4.82, processor bids 4.47-4.62. New Crop Soybeans were 2 to 22 cents
higher; elevator bids 9.56-9.86, processor bid 10.86, and exports 10.41-10.44.
Wheat was mixed, 3 cents lower to 1 cents higher; elevator bids 5.15.
Cotton on Tuesday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 1.59
lower at 67.16.
